12 Days Inspirational Journey to Israel and Jordan

Travel to Israel and Jordan’s Biblical Sites
Visit the biblical wonders of Jordan and Israel on our 12-day Holy Land Tour to some of the most significant locations in the Christian faith. While visiting Israel’s and Jordan’s biblical sites, from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north, you will walk the same land where Jesus was born, lived, healed, ministered, died and resurrected. Travelers will have the opportunity to take in biblical sites such as the Garden of Gethsemane and the Mount of Olives, walk through the Old City Jerusalem and sail on the Sea of Galilee, taking time to stop at some of the most popular destinations on tours to Jordan such as Madaba, Mt. Nebo, and Petra- one of the seven wonders of the world. You may also check our Israel tours!

You will start your tour in Israel, please visit the itinerary here.

Day 9 – Sunday

  • After breakfast check out of the hotel. We will have an early departure from Jerusalem to the Jordan border. After border crossing procedures, enter into Jordan and meet our Jordanian tour guide and bus driver. We will then proceed to Jerash, the city of the Decapolis- located about 28 miles north of Amman in the fertile heights of the Gilead. The Greco-Roman City of Jerash is the best preserved of its kind in the world. Here we will visit the colonnaded streets, the baths and the temple. We will then drive to Amman, the capitol of Jordan. After a short orientation tour viewing the various landmarks of the city, we will drive to the hotel for check-in and dinner.

Day 10 – Monday

  • After breakfast we will drive along the King’s Highway to Wadi Musa, the Jordanian village located at the entrance to the ancient city of Petra – one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the 2,000-year old ancient city of Petra. Known as the red rock city, Petra was the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century BC to the 2nd century AD. Carved by the Nabataeans out of solid rock, Petra was forgotten for hundreds of years until it was rediscovered in 1812. At the entrance to Petra, travelers are offered the option to ride a horse for 800m – from the visitor’s center to the entrance of the dramatic “Siq” (canyon). From the entrance to the Siq, there is a 1,250 meter walk to the 1st monument “The Treasury”. Throughout most of the day we will explore Petra’s incredible structures: the treasury, the field of tombs, the obelisks, and the altar, and much more.

Day 11 – Tuesday

  • After breakfast we head to the biblical town of Madaba. Madaba is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and for its Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Here we will view the earliest original map of the Holy Land. We will continue to the biblical Mt. Nebo from which Moses viewed the Promised Land. Mt. Nebo, believed to be the site of the tomb of Moses, commands a spectacular view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. We will drive by Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John the Baptist is purported to have baptized Jesus, and cross to Israel via the Allenby Bridge (Jordan/ Israel Central border) Passing by Jericho, we will drive westward to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv to catch your flights back to the US on Tuesday night.

Day 12 – Wednesday

  • Today you will arrive back in the U.S.A and start planning your next trip to the Holy Land…

Our tour guide Yair was wonderful. He knew the history, archeology and the biblical connections. I was very pleased with his use of the bible in his explanations. He was organized and prepared at all times. He dealt well with the variety of personalities in our group, a good listener and friendly to all. We had a wonderful time. One of the highlights was be baptized by a good friend in the Jordan River."

Petra was one of the key stops on our tour. I wouldn't book a trip unless it is in the package. I loved Petra. Rode a horse the first 1/2 mile into it, then walked, then rode a camel on the way back until we were at the horse stop and rode the horse the rest of the way. It was so awesome. LOVED the treasury. Amazing how they could carve it all out of the rock!"

I had an amazing time with Ranaan during Both Sides of the River Jordan tour June 20-July 1! I'm sending an email to let you know how pleased I was with the tour. Ranaan had the right balance of sharing information in way that was not overwhelming and was open to having side conversation when people wanted more in-depth information about the site we were visiting, cultural traditions and so much more. He also did a wonderful job gauging the pulse and energy of the group. We ranged in age from 15-81 and he made adjustments to accommodate everyone in the group. He is phenomenal! I'm recommending AIT and Ranaan to anyone who has asked about visiting Israel. Kudos as well to Orvad for being the best driver! I napped often on the bus, which shows I felt safe with Orvad behind the wheel. Thanks for an amazing trip!"

My husband and I would like to thank you for arranging such a friendly and helpful guide, Michael Safar, for our trip, May 31-June 2nd to Jordan. If we wanted certain photo opportunities, he arranged it. If we had questions for which he was unsure of the answer, he came back the next day with the answer. He was very knowledgeable. He knew the history, the geology the culture and the biblical history of the area very well. However, more importantly, he was always pleasant and he made the trip very relaxing and enjoyable. We would certainly recommend him as a guide for anyone wishing to tour Jordan."

The Israel/Jordan Tour through AIT was a wonderful experience and it began with Pauline and Regan assisting us and all of the help we received along the way. I would like to single out Ronnie, our Israeli guide. He was punctual, extremely knowledgeable, armed with a wonderful sense of humor, and he kept the attention of 30 tourists for six days and that isn't easy. My wife, Lillibeth, and I think Ronnie is the best guide we've ever had and we've been on many tours. I suggest you keep Ronnie busy as he understands the North American culture. Michele, our guide in Jordan, was also very pleasant and knowledgeable. The Jordanians to a person were very friendly. It was our first visit to Israel and Jordan and we want to thank AIT for a well-run tour around the Holy Land."

We have traveled extensively overseas and have been on many guided tours (over 20 without really counting). We have never been on a tour that matched the one we just experienced with Israel Tours. We visited Israel and Jordan on the Christian Both Sides of the River Jordan Tour. The Israel Tour Guide, Shlomo, was the best most knowledgeable guide we have ever experienced. He knew the Christian heritage as well as the Jewish history and put it all in perspective. He could quote bible verses when they were appropriate and had bible readings at locations that were directly noted in the bible. He had a great sense of humor and provided personal service to all the participants. I am gluten sensitive and Shlomo asked the cooks at each restaurant what dishes contained flour or bread. He then pointed out what I could eat. I highly recommend AIT and think now is the best time to travel to Israel and Jordan because the tourist visitation is at a low. We never saw or experienced anything that gave us any concern about our safety.”

Ronnie was our tour guide for the Israel portion. He has to be the best tour guide in Israel!! He was very knowledgeable, kind, tolerant and patient. He provided us with a wealth of historical knowledge of every site we visited. He also ensured all of our personal needs were met at every single hotel we stayed at. The driver of the bus, Uri, was also great. I was amazed at his driving skills on such narrow roads. He too was a joy to be around.

After we completed the Israel side of our tour we went to Jordan to see the sites. The border crossing was made very simple for us. We had VIP service going both directions and we didn't have to wait in any lines. Judy from AIT in Israel had set up all of those services for us. She was great at keeping us informed and providing accurate information. All of the Hotels we stayed in were also wonderful. The service was above and beyond the call of duty and the food was excellent.

Michael was our tour guide in Jordan. He was also a wealth of information. He was very patient when we asked questions. He was very knowledgable of history as well as the Christian Religion. He took as much time with us as we needed. He was with us one day after visiting Petra until 7:00 p.m. He went back to the hotel with us to ensure we all got checked in of and that everything was good with our rooms.

Caesar and I stayed an extra 3 days in Jerusalem after the tour was over and revisited some of the sites Ronnie had taken us to. The information Ronnie provided to us made re-visiting the sites a better experience.

A super thank you to all who were involved in making our trip wonderful!”
